My work is all drawn by hand. Primarily, I draw using ink pens on paper. Other drawings have been carved onto steel panels or drawn onto walls using ink, markers, charcoal, graphite or colored pencil.

I believe, both in the importance of craft and in the abstraction that making art allows. My work endlessly emphasizes these core objectives.

My mother was a strong influence in my life. She was involved with important 20th century figures from Black Mountain College- Willem De Kooning, John Cage, Merce Cunningham and my godmother, M.C. Richards. M.C, an artist and poet, and my godfather, Paulus Berensohn, also an artist, were the first people to train me in the making of art. I inherited their values.

I believe in the strength and beauty of nature, in the spirituality and universal connectedness of humanity and the simplicity of a meditative life.

I am an artist and designer formally trained at University of Southern California’s School of Architecture. My career includes working with firms and clients: Frederick Fisher and Partners, Nicole Hollis, Studio Collins Weir, Intelligentsia Coffee and The Meteor, Black Ink, Broc Cellars, amongst others. I have taught graduate and undergraduate art and design studios at The California Polytechnic Institute in Pomona and at The University of Southern California.

My independent art and design studio in based in Sausalito, California.
